Responsible hunting
Safety. Law. Respect.

- 1
Know the law
Hold the required hunting licence and firearms permit, know the seasons and limits, and keep your documents with you.
- 2
Be visible
Wear blaze orange during driven hunts. Visibility is one of the simplest and most effective safety measures there is.
- 3
Handle firearms with care
Treat every firearm as loaded. Never point it at anything you don't intend to shoot. Unload before crossing obstacles or entering vehicles.
- 4
Identify your target
Be certain of your target and what lies beyond it. If in doubt, don't shoot.
- 5
Respect the animal
Aim for a clean, ethical shot, follow up on every shot, and use trained tracking dogs where needed.
- 6
Respect the land
Hunt only where you have the right to. Close gates, avoid damage to crops and forest, and take your litter home.
- 7
Communicate
Follow the hunt leader's briefing, agree signals in advance, and never leave your stand without informing others.
- 8
Stay sober
Alcohol and firearms never mix — not before, not during the hunt.
